The temperature of this biome can reach as below as-50°F and as high as 50°F. The tundra is the coldest and harshest biome of them all. The two major seasons that are present in this biome is winter and summer. This biome is covered with snow year round, except for sometimes in the summer when wildflowers bloom. Even though the Arctic Tundra seems to be freezing cold, global warming is slowly distroying it. Before global warming had a huge impact some plants couldn't survive in this weather. Now these plants that could not survive before are everywhere. The surface area above the premafrost melts during the summer times. The premafrost is a layer of frozen dead plants and soil that can go below the surface at about 450 meters. At some points of time during the year, precipitation takes place in the tundra. There is about 6 to 10 inches of precipitation each year. The most common type of precipitation is snow. Even though precipitation occurs, the snow that falls doesn't absorb into the ground due to the premafrost layer. Eventually the cycle repeats and goes on. These are some example of climate in the Tundra.
